What is Deer Valley?
Park City, Utah's Deer Valley is a snow resort with a unique policy. The Deer Valley Mountain Resort is known to be a snow skier-only mountain. This means only snow skiers can ski here, and snowboarders are not welcome.

History of Stein Eriksen Lodge
The man himself, Stein Eriksen, began operating in 1982. Eriksen was a four-time gold medal winner at the Winter Olympics for giant slalom in Norway. Following his wins, Eriksen soon moved to the United States. Eriksen submerged himself into the snow ski culture and took on the role of instructing snow skiing at Sun Valley, Idaho. Eriksen soon became a known and established snow ski director at multiple snow ski resorts across the country.
Eriksen was deeply immersed in the culture of snow skiing. He eventually served as a host at the Deer Valley Resort. After Eriksen’s passing, The Deer Valley Resort was renamed after the man himself in honor.
Ranging from a variety of rooms, guest experiences, and fine dining. Expect to come back to your room with freshly clean sheets, a whole coffee and toiletries restock, and delicious bedtime chocolates. If you go out for a day of skiing or to the restaurant for dinner, guest services will prep your room for your return.
This ski-in ski-out resort also offers exceptional ski services; you don’t have to worry about lifting a finger. Guest services will help you take on and take off your ski boots and bring your skis to the mountain from the provided ski lockers.
Put on your snow ski gear, strap on your ski boots, and head out to the slopes where your snow skis await your adventure.
The ski lockers are equipped with ski boot heater tubes to put in your boots after a long day of skiing. Once the last ski lift closes and you make your way back to the Stein Erikson Lodge, expect to have guest services waiting for your arrival. On your return, guest services will take care of your snow skis and bring them back into the locker room for you, and if you need help removing your snow ski boots, they are there to assist you.

The Grand Lodge is another phenomenal lodging option at the Deer Valley Resort. It offers one—to six-bedroom residences with newly updated home features and luxury appliances. The Grand Lodge will give you a home-away-from-home experience. This lodge was made for family and friends to form more connections and create everlasting memories.

Deer Valley Experiences and Activities
Sleigh Ride
When you visit, the Deer Valley sleigh rides should be at the top of your bucket list. This family-owned business takes families and friends on a sleigh on the base of the ski slopes of Deer Valley. Professionally trained horses are pulling the sleighs, and you can witness the remarkable night scenery of the mountains, as they only operate during the evening. Bundle up and be prepared to experience an unforgettable sightseeing sleigh ride.
The Viking Yurt
Only 20 minutes down the road from Deer Valley, Park City offers an excellent dining experience. Experience Nordic dining in a yurt in the middle of Park City Mountain.
Everyone will meet at the bottom of the Park City slopes and hop on a sleigh that will take you up the slopes. You will ascend into the mountains, witnessing all the beautiful lights and trees.
Once the 25-minute sleigh ride ends, you are to enter the Viking Yurt. The attention staff will guide you through all the food courses you will taste and teach you about the Nordic traditions. This immersive experience was carefully crafted for you.
